So, there has been a lot going on in our little house recently… I have been so busy, I haven’t had a chance to post about a ton of things I would have liked to.
James has been working away for the last month and a half, for 3 days a week in London. It’s been so hard getting used to him travelling again. The boys are bigger and school is back, and doing the parenting thing single handedly for half of each week, is kind of crazy. I have so much respect for the women (and men!) who single parent full-time! I guess I take it for granted that James is normally always there to help out and do his share… and when he is here I get to have a break sometimes… when he is away, it’s round the clock single parenting.
Ollie is fully settled back into school and is so far enjoying P2. He likes his teacher and likes his classmates and the first topic they are studying is Space and he is LOVING that. His behaviour has calmed slightly, as I knew it would once his mind was properly occupied again. He is a clever little man… he takes so much in and I am surprised every day by the things that he knows. He missed 3 days last week though due to a chest infection, so this week is the first week that he has been given homework! It doesn’t seem that different from his homework in P1… yet.
Nate has started at a Surestart creche that opened in our housing development in August! He gets to go and play with the other kids his age twice a week for 2 hours each session. He has not had any issues with me leaving him, as I knew he would not… and he loves it! Though I know he is so pleased to see me when I come to collect him. I haven’t yet decided what to do with my 4 free hours in a week… I might dedicate that time to blogging… or editing a bunch of photos… in other news, Nate isn’t well at the moment, has a ton of new words including: stop it, no, upstairs, Marcie and hi, and has started to have full blown ‘terrible twos’ style tantrums.
In my news…. I recently went out for lunch with my mum, went on a tour of Crumlin Gaol, had a girly night in with a friend for her birthday, reconnected with an old friend who came for dinner and went to a hen party for my gorgeous friend who is getting married in a couple of weeks! I’ve also been going to church recently and I’m really enjoying it!
Marcie was not well! She has been to the vet a few times in the last number of weeks but it seems she is on the up. She had not been feeding at all well since we got her and when we went to the vet to get her jab, he told us that she had a high temperature and that she was too underweight… too unwell to get the jab… so he sent us away with new food, an antibiotic and some sort of paste stuff. She slowly began eating… and is A LOT better. She was able to get her 1st vaccination at the last appointment and was fitted with a chip… she will get her 2nd vaccination next Monday and then we will be able to take her out for walks! We are all so excited for that!
